PrismMaster

The PrismMaster® is the first really automatic goniometer featuring accurate measurements of prisms angles from 0° to 360° either in reflection or in transmission. It incorporates an ultra-accurate rotary air bearing and a high precision rotary encoder whose cumulative error is within +/- 0.2 arcsec or +/- 0.5 arcsec.

The PrismMaster can be used for angle measurements of any plano optics in production quantities with high speed and consistent accuracy:

Ø     any prism angle
Ø     polygons angle
Ø     wedge angles
Ø     90°-angle of prisms
Ø     parallelism of plane plates
Ø     deviation angle through wedges and prisms
Ø     pentaprisms angle
Ø     mirror tilt

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The PrismMaster® is the first really automatic goniometer featuring accurate measurements of prisms angles from 0° to 360°either in reflection or in transmission. It incorporates an ultra-accurate rotary air bearing and a high precision rotary encoder whose cumulative error is within +/-0.5 arcsec .

The PrismMaster HR-Version- probably the most accurate prism and polygon measuring instrument worldwide-features a cumulative error of typically 0.15arcsec.

The system also includes an autocollimator mounted on a tiltable base. Unlike other goniometers which are using a visual autocollimator, the PrismMaster is equipped with a computerised autocollimator featuring a resolution of 0.01arcsec. The autocollimator image is taken by a high resolution CCD-sensor and further processed via frame grabber, PC and specific software.

The fine rotary adjustment of the table is given by a high precision micrometer. A digital display provides an angle indication with a resolution of 0.36 arcsec or 0.036 arcsec in the HR-Version.

The newest development PrismMaster-MOT is equipped with an ultra precision drive for fully automated measurement of optical components. The highly sophisticated rotation drive enables automatic positioning of any face of polygons or prisms with an accuracy less than 5 arcsec. The state of the art software features automated zero positioning, constant or variable measurement steps, selectable rotation speed, multiple measurements etc.

The software provides easy operation, records of measurement data to a file and print out of the measurement certificate.
